god damn that ending has me so sad. I remember first reading this when it was brand new and still in part 1, I've come back to re-read it over the years but I've only just gone all the way to the end now.
Definitely one of my fave romance manga of all time. The way it's written so craftily, the tangled web, how everyone is the hero in their own story and how much easier it would be if we could all communicate our feelings - but also how that's just not realistic. People are selfish, we lie and we prioritise our own needs over others. Jung might be a sociopath but he's not the only person in the story who pulls strings to get what he wants - he's just the person who's best at it.
also slightly hilarious where the only person who's happy ending involves getting therapy is inha, when all these bitches need therapy least of all JUNG, God's favourite traumatised princess. Someone please put this man in front of a trained professional.

I think this manga is quite sad and depressing and maybe if you're a particularly sensitive individual you shouldn't be reading it, but it doesn't really pretend to be anything else at all. I don't get the massive amounts of hate. it's not brilliantly written, and the art's wonky, but when we have things like painter of the night on the most popular page, (not dissing that btw since I like it too) which has everything this manga has sans gang rape, it just seems a bit weird and disproportionate.
the 'brother' thing might have been a mistranslation of hyung, the term of respect used in korea for older males by younger males? Their conversation sort of makes sense if you think of it like that, but obvs I don't have the raws and even if I did i don't speak korean anyway so this could be 100% wrong lol
