basically in a previous chapter the mc overhead his brother telling their parents that he can’t accomplish much (paraphrasing) and mc overheard it (we assume his brother said this so mc didn’t get pressured by their parents like he did). mc is bringing this situation back up now because his brother complimented him for the first time by saying he grew up to be a great man.
