Ray was the priest's ex lover who died. In the verge of Ray's death, the demon came to existence and fell in love with the priest who diligently prayed for Ray's recovery. However, Ray died thus the demon took Ray's form to be with the priest. The priest know from the start that the current Ray is not his "Ray" which he didn't mind. So halfway of their shenanigan the demon reverted back to his original form (the platinum hair with golden eyes) and in the process, the priest asked for his real name binding the demon into a contract with him. And they fucked happily ever after ^^
