Don't worry Cliff did have a happy ending! ヾ(☆▽☆) There were actually changes towards the ending in the manhwa adaptation vs the novel. Iirc in the novel, Cliff was never sent to another world. After the author K was sent to a convent, Cliff married someone else later on. Although she wasn't beautiful like Rhyse, plain even, Cliff loves her very much.He was still the heir to the dukedom. Killian and Edith didn't become the duke and duchess but the lords of Raizen. Edith developed some policies and facilities to help the poor in Raizen. As lords, they improved the economy of Raizen and was very well loved there. I actually love the novel's ending better. This manhwa is just another instance of an artist changing the ending because they thought they could do better than the original author of the novel but it was so poorly done it made it even awkward for me to read. The original ending was definitely better if I was asked. The only thing I was glad was added in the manhwa was the information about what happened to the original Rhyse and Edith after their deaths.
