I always tell myself to not read anything omegaverse, it’s always this “heat” they put on so they don’t actually have to write a couple that falls in love because they have good chemistry.
Don’t need to make a story when the omega can just go into heat and it’s miraculously done!

if you want to read omegaverse in the future where heats aren't the primary plot device of falling in love, look out for stories that aren't alpha-omega couples at least, e.g. alpha x alpha (love is an illusion - superstar / define this relationship), alpha x beta (exclusive no love zone), or omega x omega (i can't think of any at the top of my head since this unfortunately isn't a trope most people want, so authors tend to deviate from it, but it's sometimes mentioned in stories navigating through non alpha x omega stories). there are alpha x omega stories where the heat isn't the main romance plot device (unromantic / alpha trauma / kiss me if you can), but if you're j randomly clicking onto an omegaverse, 9/10 chances are the heat's j an excuse for porn without plot
