Some people may really hate He Tian and see nothing good on him. Others may love the character and still be able to point out that his abuse on Mo is not excused by good deeds or feelings. Most of us rationalize that if you abuse someone, the fact that you also care for that person does not make up for the abuse.

This is fiction but we are discussing He Tian character behavior in the context of excusing him or not as if he was a real person, right?

Do you really want a boyfriend or a friend who treats you like He Tian treats Mo?
That expresses his love/care for you like He Tian expresses his love for Mo?

Love and care should never be 'expressed' with abuse. If that happens, something needs to change in the relationship. Those of us who love He Tian just want to see this happening in the story. Most of this discussion started now because some readers were complaining about Mo being cold to He Tian -- that prompted other readers to 'remind' everybody that He Tian is a still at this stage acting as bully to Mo and treating him as property/pet so it's really unfair to expect Mo to warm up to his bully until the abusive behavior stops. Mo may not recognize that He Tian cares for him if he sees his 'good' deeds as He Tian taking care of his property or another way of He Tian control him.

Does love really compensate and excuse abuse? You know He Tian bullying Mo is canon but you think He Tian caring for Mo should even up things. Think about what you said. It's typical 'abusive relationship' warning PDA . This is typical victim behavior like girls who get beaten up and controlled by their boyfriend but when friends try to warn her, she answers that it's okay because she knows deep inside he really loves her or that this is because he can't express his feelings.

If someone is 'expressing' their feelings to you by forcing you to be their property, beating you when you disobey them, forcing to wear things against their will.... call for help now even if he cares for you. Believe it or not, many parents care for their kids and still abuse them. This goes for all types of relationship.

Yes, it's cute when He Tian shows care for Mo but that falls into cracks in the whole dynamic because his good care sounds like the good care he is giving to his pet if in the next scene he is back beating/humiliating/forcing the guy into submission.
All that being said, a lot of us is really hoping the author has the He Tian bullying/pet thing waning out in future chapters so these two can develop into a healthy relationship.

It's sour grapes. Before when people thought there would be a love triangle they were hyped af. He turns his attention to Mo and they turn on him. But believe me if it was Yi getting pinned, kissed, earrings, etc they would be loving it. A user on here bashed him for force kissing Mo..yet if you look at their other topic they admit to wishing it was Yi. That is the hypocrisy and sour grapes I'm talking about. He Tian fits the classic seme role and it pisses of Yi stans that he's not on the receiving end of it but instead underdog Mo is. There's exceptions here n there sure but this is true for a lot I would guess.

That's a side of Xi and Jian that I never liked too. I don't get how can someone find cute Xi slapping Jian around and again it's all excused because Xi cares Jian despite of that.
The fact that Xi hits Jian and draws blood is upsetting and wrong even more because they are supposed to be in a much healthier relationship here since they are already friends.
He Tian goes overboard with the bullying on Mo and treating him like a pet/property on top of the beating and that became the main dynamic between them.

I am aware that ship wars make for some people disliking characters just for the sake of putting down a ship that they dislike. That's too bad because the opposite also applies and readers start excusing bad stuff on their favorites just because they like the character.

I like both ships, I like all 4 characters so I can tell that it's not hate if I call off Xi beating up Jian as wrong and He Tian treating Mo as pet as fucked up too.

They just hate that he's in love with Mo, only called Mo, and as of late devotes nearly all his time to him. Thinks about him night and day even. :') Old Xian confirmed them a year ago tho so no matter how much they hate it it's happening.

They try to twist things obviously intended to be romantic gestures (they play dumb as if they never heard of pushy seme and stubborn ukes) and try to frame it as creepy because they are bitter it's not Yi getting cute hair clips (he has no piercing holes so I'm going with his long hair), pinned down, etc. Let em whine. It won't change their popularity and they'll continue to get more fanfics, arts, and discussion. They can't change what's popular no matter how vocal they are.

No, I don't respect the people who called He Tian abusive, rapist, took a bittersweet chapter meant to provide backstory + show who he cares for and compared Mo to an animal, denied they are supposed to be a thing, etc. Don't ask me to respect ppl who are literally out to ruin others enjoyment of things just because they are feeling bitter that things didn't pan out how they wanted. Nah.

I think the one who not respect to ox's work is you. Don't you know, old xian made the one i called "hiting joke/beating joke/whatever" away before He Tian character created. But you directly accuse that He Tian is abusive one and influence other people to not love his character. Every character will get their development. Just see what ox will gonna do to make their character better than before
