i don't get oto's thought process, he is considering (not exactly but you get the point) the engagement and not flat out rejecting it despite it coming from his "family" that disowned him, but he pretty much refuses shuga's help, his child's father who btw wants to step tf up. like... isn't there a clear and obvious choice here?
Not really, no. Any power shuga has is borrowed from his family and he is just a student that is reliant on them. It’s a very risky ledge to put himself and more importantly, his child on to rely on shuga, exposing their relationship to a family that may not approve of their relationship. As the elder between them he feels responsible for protecting shuga’s future from that potential backlash for what he perceives as his own selfish choice (keeping akane out of wedlock), even if he knows shuga would want to do right by him. He’s trying to be responsible for both his child who is his biggest motivation ALSO not be a burden to shuga. We know when he picks shuga everything will work out and their love will prevail because we know we are reading a story and get to see shuga’s dedication but from oto’s perspective there is no clear certainty for the future and his son’s whole life is on the line here.
As the birth father, the omega eventually realized that they need a better environment for the child (tho they have that fucking environment before the fuckers alpha start stepping on their personal space). Choosing the real alpha dad is risky because there’s a high chance that his family will not approve of their relationship and take the child away from him but still, he’s the real alpha dad, he have the right to see the child anyway, he can’t just deny the fact.
Now about choosing the guy under his fathers puppet string are not less stressful also, cause it felt like he’s being used by his own father, but as a parent, he could at least think of the childs safety than his environment like bro, are we fucking sure they will not treat your child like how they treat you? unlike the other 2 pairs, this one felt shallow, especially takeo, personally, natsuhate no unkown is the heaviest when it comes to emotions (seriously, that one was amazing), cupid ni rakurai was really cute, and this one is meh, it felt like i was watching someone become the rebound i couldn't find it in me to feel their chemistry. they did have some cute moments that i liked! but mostly i was just waiting for each chapter to end, if i were waka, i'd be really anxious about this relationship as well.
