He only lets people live if they entertain him or have a use. She’s afraid of him because he can just as easily lose interest and kill her. Yes he can prove himself time and time again but that was only really towards the end. If I was her, I’d be shitting bricks if this murderous tyrant found amusement in my fear and repeatedly tried to get a reaction out of me using extreme methods.
