something to point out here is that the rapey vibe does appeal to a lot of readers, which you can tell because there's a lot of it not just in m/m stuff but also in f/m stuff. it's not that deep, many ppl just enjoy the fantasy of passivity and helplessness, of being relieved of all responsibility for the things they want. reading about it is a way...... reply
i agree with you on the overpowered male protagonists. if your protagonist is overpowered and unreasonably attractive to every single woman he meets, the story's gonna inevitably be boring as shit. the misogyny and harem style is also really, really annoying.
