Maybe I’m just stupid and can’t catch on or don’t remember but what did Johnny mean by saying “so you knew” or something like that. And Callahan saying it was obvious, therefore the background check etc etc. im confused as to what their talking about and what was found out
For me, Cal had noticed Johnny's feelings but couldn't reciprocate it at the time. He can't just be doing all that for money. Even if he's not the scammer, he still puts himself at risk because, as the bad guy said, he looks almost identical. They can just arrest or execute him to close the case. Also, we've been reading Johnny's mind. He said himself he's not the scammer. If he lied that means he broke the fourth wall which I doubt.

Genuinely I had not believed that this side story could get ANY WORSE. Both characters are in need of some therapy and the boss needs to be checked into a damn psych ward with his idealizations of killing someone and his aggression. I honestly don’t care if the whole point of this side story is that it’s meant to be some toxic “love” story and that it’s meant to be fucked, because it doesn’t even feel planned out and like it’s throwing every possible curve ball for the sake of it. This guy who has less self respect than a damn bug and a weirdo who takes advantage of him and admitted to wanting to hurt him + ATTEMPTED to kill him when he was only a child. Also no one seems to be commenting on that part as well, the fact he knew him so young? He was a damn high schooler and he looked like he was probably still in elementary? It’s not some cute little age gap it’s a whole diff age group. How could you even look at someone you knew so young in a romantic way whether he’s older or not? But I guess he is a borderline psychopath so it’s not surprising. There’s so much fucked up shit in this side story and whether it’s be the author is going for a dark/toxic romance or not it’s unenjoyable atp, not that it ever rlly was.
