i always buy the stories i like if i have leftover money at the end of the month. but i'm already an adult and have a lot more money than the teens that get like 30 bucks a month. also, i don't want to support the author if they end up doing shit, like normalizing rape or sexism etc etc. i won't know about that before i've read it

We only make ourselves look more bad saying this. “I am poor that I can’t buy them all so I read it illegally cause it’s too much” that is an excuse to justify yourself for reading illegally. I’m sorry, for US reading illegally. I do it too.

I'm pretty sure they make enough money, their books get reposted everywhere, they're getting much more attention too. They're overreacting because their work got 'stolen'. In my opinion, they should be happy they have a bunch of fans on different platforms, supporting them in any way they can. As someone who knows what an author goes through, they're just greedy and unappreciative. Going overboard and spending their time complaining about how they're feeling about the situation, maybe they should spend it on getting money if that's what's always worrying them.

Ok, you know what? I was agreeing with you guys but this is far. You don’t speak for every author. You vs the other 100 authors who have a problem with this? Idk that speaks for itself. Many authors have explicitly said they don’t care about popularity, they even block everyone who read illegally on their social medias. Majority of them do it for money. It’s their income, They’ve said it themselves. You guys say legal readers act superior it but have you guys seen yourselves? Literal hypocrites. I’m done here. And spend their time on getting money?
