the reason i started this back then was the way ines described emiliano in the past, but read some comments that said ines never loved emiliano, is that true?
She did love him. The author said she learned to love him after they became fugitives and he was her only companion. In contrast, he loved her right away after she had dubcon sex with him the night in ep11 when they were strangers and she didn’t even know his name. That’s why when people say Carcel fell for her body, I realize they don’t know a thing because the only man in this story who declared they love her or fell for her after having sex is Emiliano.
Anyway, at the time, Ines only had Oscar to compare Emiliano to. That comparison is like heaven and hell. She compares them several times in the novel especially since that’s the only love triangle that exists in the story.
Also, Ines admits later that she has been romanticizing her life with Emiliano. That’s partly due to her feeling of guilt towards him as well as the fact that he treated her like a true princess and cherished her unlike Oscar who trampled her. When Emiliano finally appeared, we got to know a more realistic side of things.
In the end, if you had started reading this story because of the way Ines romanticized Emiliano, this is not the story you thought it was because this story is definitely about the love between Ines and Carcel which is revealed progressively after marriage. That’s the beauty of this story. Nothing is what it appears in the beginning.
