WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE NEEDS HIS PARTNER TO APPROVE IT??? WAHT TYPA LOGIC IS THAT?? WOULD THEY SAY THE SAME THING IF IDK THE VICTIM WAS RAPED??? By that logic they would have to ask the rapist for permission to abort like wtf??????? THATS MAKES NO SENSEEEE
Update: I searched up how early abortion can happen and it can occur as early as it is confirmed… BRO THIS ISNT EVEN LOGICAL FOR THAT DOC TO SAY NAH ITS TOO EARLY TO TERMINATE. JUST DONT EVEN ADD PRENANCY??? OR MAYBE JUST HAVE IT AS A PREGANCY SCARE THERES NO REASON TO HAVE THIS PLOT DEVICE WHEN THE SOLUTION IS CLEAR??
ya it depends on the laws of a country and whatever the authors wants to write but like its disgustingly pushy about 'informing the partner' and 'too late to terminate' like they give less of a fartshit about your autonomy and instead care about the man and his future child instead. like comeon even if there is worse stories out there there's nothing wrong with calling out bullshit here now and then
Man there’s a difference from what makes it world building and fuck up bullshit. There are full on fantasy bs and dragons and you don’t see ppl saying oh that’s unrealistic and blah blah blah. This having dumb excuses of why mc can’t abort in general is full on nonsense.
And I never said what exact date for the abortion. All the doc said is that it’s too early for the mc to abort which yes in other countries have rules regarding that, but making it so you NEED another person to sign off is so illogical and frankly dehumanizing.
Plus this is such a cop out than the usual of mc just running away to hide the baby. At least in their logic, the only person we can blame is them, but the author brings a FULL ON DOCTOR to tell em which makes it worse. Plus why can’t I vent about it? It is bad writing on their end. People have a right to their opinion.
Of course it is disgusting but again fake here. I can't get mad to the fake situation. I can be disgusted by the laws in Japan, turkey, Taiwan, Indonesia, and 7 more. According to genAI these are the countries asking for "father's" permission/acknowledgement to have n abortion.
The problem is that the laws are made by old men who seek power.
Alright, I can see where you’re getting from but this story is taking place in Korea. A place that has legalize abortion as well letting it up to 14 weeks. Even 24 weeks should there be certain circumstances like rape, danger to mother’s health, severe fetal abnormalities, or socioeconomic hardship. For even the process to happen, there is NO requirement of spousal and parental consent involved. So having the excuse other countries have that weird requirement, doesn’t work in this sort of setting. We know it takes place in Korea because of the mandated military service mc already went as well with clear cultural norms.
Another is yes, the whole two weeks pregnancy confirm is weird. Logically it does not work since conception is unlikely to occur at that time. However, the fact that the mc went to the doctor to have that thing even confirm is different. On that sense it would be best to assume that male pregnancies happens early or whatever, which makes applying normal pregnancies logic invalid. BUT THIS DOESNT CHANGE THE FACT THAT THE AUTHOR DELIBERATELY CHOOSES TO TELL THAT THE MC IS PREGNANT WHICH LEGIT SETS THEM UP FOR FAILURE IN MAKING IT WORK. At the end of the day this actually bad writing which we shouldn’t let be the standard. If we don’t at least point it out, how can writers get better.
I will also take it back if the author chooses to explain why and how that requirement is a thing, since the concept of abortion itself isn’t something to take lightly. Given how omegas and alphas are viewed, it would make things interesting but I doubt they would go that far. Since this is just a plot device, for drama…
It was an obligatory requirement also in Korea until 2020 (around there if i remember correctly). They changed the law after that. The reference to the other countries was not used as an excuse for the bad writing of the author but as "i get mad at the real situation but not at fake one". I just find the commenting section a bit overwhelming compare to other stories who have way more crazy stories,
Iike zig stories.
I wasn’t aware of it being an actual thing in Korea before the law change. I probably missed while searching about the current law.
You’re right on the comment section reaction, I think it’s just that the situation they are in is a bit realistic (aside omegaverse logic and mpreg). This is possibly someone’s experience with having a complicated relationship with someone they’re enamored with and things led to where they’re forced to decide to keep or abort the baby.
Sure there are way worse like most popular bl, but I think it really has to do with how extreme the situation is. Like in codename Anastasia, the whole spy thing is not something everyone can easily imagine. Most of what media puts out is a lot of speculation than the real thing which makes easy to just turn off and go with the flow. Here is two college students with a complicated relationship mix in with the Korean style drama. That’s easy to imagine since college life is likely what a lot of people experience even when there’s cultural differences.

Kinda surprise it ended there, but like I’m not mad?? It’s like if we go more into depth then we have to check on the brother’s motive and that would humanize him that people would sympathize in a weird way. Plus it probably go with the route of him trying to steal Mc from ml so I’m kinda happy we didn’t have to go through that plot line. Though it would be great if we see mc’s side because it’s implied with her mom using her for money and so on.
