It's not a matter of maturity, it's a matter of desensitization around the topic of intimacy and romantic relationships in general. In a lot of yaoi manga, assault and toxicity is glamorized, and although it's fictional, it's important for the reader to acknowledge what is happening in the manga would not be okay in real life.
