I actually wish we would see more of Ian and Jake, as it is very noticeable that with Melissa's help Ian's & Jake's character are diverting from the original. They seem to "set themselves free" just like Yuri had to. Ian was written to be a cheater who feels no guilt, but now we've seen him grow (a little bit) and regret his past actions. Jake was written ro be in love with Yuri, however he no longer seems interested. Maybe they really are growing a conciousness too :)
Nine is a character, who wasn't important to the plot, hence why his character and his choices were not influenced by the author.

Has anyone watched the K-Drama "Extraordinary You"? Where the characters slowly become aware that they're just characters in a novel without free will and choice. Yuri knows that something is not right as she has lived through the book multiple times and nothing has changed. Ian is written to be a cheater that we all hate. I did dislike his character but he is slowly changing and it is noticeable that he's holding some feelings for Melissa. What if Ian is now able to change his character thanks to Melissa? He's slowly but surely diverting from the playboy to someone who cares about Melissa.
In the original novel Ian changes thanks to his love for Yuri. He did have some feelings for her, but it seemed like nothing serious, as his character was only written to fall in love with Yuri.
So my question is: what if Ian is also slowly growing a conciousness and can think for himself, act out of character and differently than the author portrayed him to be?
