Can someone please recommend a bl with a plot other than romance? Like, in ‘the grandmaster of demonic cultivation” the main plot is them exploring and investigating this incident, and they just happen to fall in love during that process!
I want something similar! Ofc the main plot need not be them investigating.
Another example would be if in “Haikyuu!!”, kagehina were canon. It’d just be a side plot of how their relationship advanced, the main plot still being the sports aspect of the manga.

sometimes when i scroll down to the questions area i see people looking for recs/asking to help find something they forgot the title of, and I can almost always twist the literal story of that manga into fitting the answer perfectly, and its almost never what they actually were asking for. (this is one of the best manga ive ever read, but i think its so funny to answer with it because of how serious and soul crushing the story and symbolism and such is)

youre so right, and the best part is : the whole of this manga is about the effects on the victim(s) and other abuse that forms around it, and dealing with it before, during, and afterwards (including about revenge/forgiveness/denial/nothing is enough) (this shit is UPSETTINGGG and REALISTIC (not realistic visually, but in dialogue, etc.)) like, the WHOLE THING is about trauma, not romance or action or even the revenge aspect of it, its just trauma. someone in the comments said "this gave me second-hand ptsd" AND THAT SHIT IS TRUE

I’m used to stories that are filled with drama or fluff but this just felt so slow paced and peaceful yet it pulled me along so easily. The flow of the story was beautiful and the mc’s partner at the end unexpected.
It also shows how mc struggles to find LOVE and not just some temporary date as a gay guy, which I love the inclusion of.
I hope we see more of the high schooler tho… how he ends up as an adult, if he ever visits the mc for that suit, how he felt about mc and if he missed seeing the mc during his summer break. But ig that’s not gonna happen so that’s a pity….
