I'm so sad that the plot is messy and too horny and not fully fledged out because the their dynamic is SO good. I keep coming back because it's perfect and I haven't found another work that encapsulates toxicity in such a consensual way (in the way that their dynamic is written to be toxic and insane, though it sometimes isn't written in the most convincing way). The plot annoys me so much cause there's so many holes and unnecessary problems and no realism in depicting how business and law works. It feels like a fanfic created by someone who has only seen mafia short-movies (the ones that you watch in your phone, you know?), which is infuriating when you then get THE best dynamic with such good scenes.

renji is mad because sakuma reacted to thw attacker but i think also because he realized that he may not be renji's fated pair as it was the first time sakuma rejected his pheromones
I think Renji is mad because Sakuma rejected Renji’s pheromones. The reason Sakuma had that reaction is because Sakuma encountered an alpha who is his “fated mate” (though in this manga they just say it’s an alpha and omega who are especially compatible). The reasoning they give is that an omega who is exposed to a “fated mate’s” pheromones rejects any other alpha’s pheromones. It seems like Renji and Sakuma aren’t fated mates :(
WAIT I think I got it—so, Sakima is 'destined' match with the attacker and Renji, as the doctor also stated, thinks that Sakima's health problems happened due to his angry (tho any pheromone release would have done it i suppose) pheromones after, since it wasn't the 'destined' person's.
I think it'll probably end up with either it being like a new 'seldom' case of changing 'destined' person (since why would the whole 'breed me' situation while thinking of Renji be there if he rejected him) or that Sakima becomes strong enough to reject the attacker's pheremones, and then them becoming a pair will fix it. Second option would be more realistic to the world building, I just feel like some sort of twist is gonna happen ngl
Renji is INSECURE thats why he is mad. Its all insecurity knowing he is not his fated partner. Knowing he reacted to another man's pheromone stronger than he is.and he wants to test which is stronger. The fate or their love.
