I think you could get away with reading it as a stand alone, there might just be a couple of parts that are from the main manga but nothing that is that important, I'd definitely recommend reading the main one though

1. Chase broke off with his family years ago, he only recently has phone contact with his parents again, which is Josh's doing.

Yea his broken emotional organs played a role and parenting too since he needed someone to teach him with love and not give him set of rules there was no resentment for chase from grayson though .. grayson does not even understand the abuse.
koi told him to always help people when he was little so all the things he did to chase he genuinely thought he was helping ,in deflower me if you can it was mentioned the only reason he was in west (kmyic timeline)is to help chase(we saw in kmyic manhwa)
....he also has a very good relation with bliss (dom omega brother)bliss always calls him to resolve his problems lol since he is unemployed
