I wonder why dont this seem to have much impact to Nera. Her father commit a crime and escape and mother gone, it doesnt seem to affect Nera much aside from her reputation going down. She still loitering the noble places like nothing happen.
They were never a loving family anyway though. Her dad spoiled her but he also actively beat is wife whenever she displeased him. She probably saw that often enough to detach herself from the situation & because she herself is a b*tch, Nera probably reasoned it with "it was mother's fault anyway." People that have that mentality just don't have A-N-Y affection for their family or even the ability to feel "real love" at all. Being surrounded by shitty people can easily make you into a shitty person. & we knew from the beginning that Nera was a cunt. She just doesn't give a shit about other people & only fakes interest in them if it can be to her advantage. She stole her relative's husband in the 1st timeline, and in the 2nd she's still actively trying to crush Iris even though she doesn't have the power or authority to do anything more than spread shite rumors and try to damage Iris's reputation. But in the world of nobility a crap reputation completely f*cks up a person's lifestyle & if the rumors become vicious enough it can even lead to imprisonment, banishment, or death. Nera also knows this & deliberately tries to attack Iris as much as she can in the social circle. It's not worth trying to understand Nera's feelings. She genuinely thinks she's above Iris & that she just deserves to have everything she wants because she's "Nera"--daughter of some lowly shithead nobleman who maintains his wealth be being a thieving, manipulative asshole. She's a cunt & that's the end of it.
