okay, at first the story was decent, and i enjoyed the school romance. but it didn’t really make sense when they started packing in irrelevant/ unrealistic trauma.
so the mc’s an orphan (his dad was literally standing in front of him when he was a kid and just rides away from him on a bike?) and leaves him w this new family he doesn’t even know. it doesn’t really make sense at all.
he’s adopted by a family and now has an older brother who’s physically abusive and hits him, leaving marks. turns out his brother is ALSO IN LOVE WITH HIM and goes to the length of coming to his highschool without him knowing to watch him for no reason, and gets jealous seeing him with the love interest.
he does really weird stuff to the mc (like hug and sniff him), and the mc thinks this is all normal behaviour and defends him because he’s been abused and manipulated since his childhood by him.
his brother also used to be in a relationship with one of the homeroom teachers at mc’s highschool, and HE IS AWARE AND LITERALLY ENCOURAGES THE FACT HE’S LOVE WITH HIS BROTHER? this homeroom teacher literally takes pictures of the mc and love interest hanging out in school together and sends it to mc’s brother to make him ‘jealous”. what kind of a teacher does that?..
mc doesn’t have much personality and no friends except for the love interest, so it feels too isolated. and the addition of a fujoshi character is always enough to make anyone cringe. she locked them in the gym closet overnight by accident, and the characters weren’t even panicked. like that’s just a normal night for them?
now the love interest has an abusive alcoholic father, and his mother died i’m pretty sure, so his childhood was very traumatic. he has an older sister who tried to khs a few times. she gets pregnant and has a kid. this kid grows up to be absolutely irritating and hates mc for no reason and gives him TOILET WATER to drink when he visits their house.
love interest finds out his older sister is involved in some bad money scheme and owes mc’s brother a lot of money. turns out she is doing prostitution to earn money to pay her debt back.
love interest spotted her on the street with an older man, not much communication with his sister he just absolutely loses it. in school, he gets really mad out of nowhere towards the mc: (“i never liked you back!”). mc gets all upset and cries but there’s no communication following that, and the story gets cut off right after they walk away from each other.
flash forward to SEVEN YEARS, and love interest is now a cringe smoker who writes manga. mc ends up working for him as an artist. when they first met after all those years, love interest recognised him and kissed him without his consent, which is their first kiss in this whole manga as well.
