why is it that when artists are perfectly capable of drawing big/plump lips (almost every character here has them) they still resort to racist tropes for black characters? genuinely, what was the need for that?
i know this story is about bongchun and soongap, but i couldn’t help but fall in love with soongap’s and mojil’s story. i am weak for things like that.

i am literally booboo the fool for somehow having the slightest expectation that all the excessive rape (that chugong commits and beomsu goes through) could genuinely be used as a plot device instead of hella content for those with a relevant fetish/kink. my understanding of this story so far is limited by the stupid ai “translations” and not being able to understand what the hell it is this author wants: is this simply crack treated quite seriously or is it a serious story full of absurd elements? ahem, that, at times, are unnecessary since they diminish the earnestness within it, ahem. none of this is to say that the notable extent of chaos must totally vanish, but for the sake of the more sober parts… the author should think more with the head atop their shoulders, not with what is either figuratively or literally down below.
it is my belief that the author intends to go with prevalent bl tropes (obsession, kidnapping, captivity, rape, and mpreg to name a few) and doubles… no triples… no sextuples-down on them whether to be purely satirical or to be satirical despite the indulgence (…or something else, idk). i am not opposed to the two leads having a ridiculously toxic relationship, but i think that the initial kidnapping, type of captivity, and amount of rape are unnecessary; for dae beomsu to be confined to jang chugong and then eventually run away, i do not believe that these things had to have occurred… but then would the level of debauchery be anywhere near to have something this crazy? regardless, i believe how dae beomsu being sexually abused is portrayed overall in comparison to how jang chugong is weakens the actual story.
but it was actually surprising to see chugong’s sexual and overall trauma not be treated as frivolous. i acknowledge that dae beomsu’s response to chugong’s abuse has somewhat also been depicted seriously, and that is why i started this rant off by saying i am booboo the fool… for some reason, despite the obvious fetish content… i hang onto those few times thinking there will be more. i can see his enjoyment of being with chugong sexually as part of his trauma. speaking from experience, sexual abuse does not need to be violent, and it can even feel good physically because of that. i don’t say that to diminish the harm as it’s still abuse and seriously fucked up. it’s just that… it can make what happened even more confusing so when removed from the situation, one can finally process what in the actual hell happened. like when beomsu is shown to hate the thought of ever having to go back to chugong — despite how the sex scenes play out, he disdains the idea. so thus… i can see, albeit blearily, this manhwa without a corny and illogical “they get together and live happily” ending.
