The misunderstanding is when andrew is thinking luke only likes him as a friend and not dating wise, and has the dream of Luke saying “we’re friends” and like friend zone stuff.. while Luke is telling malcome(his friend) that he thinks it’s a relationship/dating between andrew and himself and not just friendszone situationship that andrew thinks (but both don’t know how each other feels because neither one has rlly confessed their love) sorry if it’s a bad explanation it’s just the gist of the last couple chapters

The ai part is pretty weird, but it is necessary. The concept of AI is scary and guys don’t use it in real life. As of now we don’t know where this stories going in s2 maybe the ai will seem unreliable and after all she’ll drop it. But, the bigger concern is that humans need validation in any form. The dangerous of AI includes that it’s an algorithm catered to your wishful thinking. The fact that fl is going towards AI is because the ml is such a piece of shit she has no one else to believe in. Sometimes hearing your friend encourage you isn’t enough, and humans seek validation in any safe and quick form. This shows you the flaws in people and the root of the problem, the lack of empathy from the ml. It’s just written this way to show you a message. And ik I’m reading too much into it but people might not have access to a therapist or a best friend, and that’s also a problem. So take this story as a way to always be empathetic and listen to people, because this is our future if we stay ignorant.
