I think it might be a translation issue. Like, the author might be trying to convey the idea of “property” or “belongings” instead. Since in Korean language, words related to “property” or “possessions” can sometimes end up being translated as “collection” when put into direct translation, the intended meaning might have gotten lost along the way.
