I want to clear it that I don't know Korean. So all I say it is based on what I absorbed.
So, in school jaemin represented himself as proper/perfect student to others but in reality he wasn't (I think you already know it by far) and some situation led him to took a intrest in daon. Here, I want to say that it was not daon but jaemin who first approaches. And rest you know jaemin started teaching daon, they get closer with each other and all that.
In university daon met with soohyun (and it was so cute that's way I ship daon and soohyun). Well I am not going to spoil soohyun part for you.
So I think jaemin gets jealous and as you know he knew that daon have felling for him and he also know that soohyun likes daon and soohyun knows that daon have felling for jaemin. (Yeah I know very confusing).
Anyway so both jaemin and soohyun made some kind a deal with each other (which was already broken by the way) and that's it for now.
(Again I could be wrong but it is what I can generalised by seeing the raw)
