From what I understood: fl is from country A, got married to enemy country B seventh prince ( that later became emperor with fl's family support) and died. After regression she's now trying to marry cutie, same country as hers, but had history with country B because his once crown prince grandfather died, leaving his son that later became a grand Duke and at some point a military hostage. So cutie lived in enemy country B for who knows how many years till he met the crown prince of country A and his cousin, saved the day and returned to his homeland country as a hero and new grand duke. Either way, if they just stopped designing all princes as blue eyed blondies we could all have a better life
