Even I would doubt myself if my Boyfriend would always make empty promises like that and we all know what that shopping situation will turn into… like grow a spine and do things on your own. He could have easily taken a taxi instead off going to the café, could've changed and just texted to meet at his place instead. What a fucking dumbass.
Granted Minato is insecure and overreacts a bit, but Shizuma knows why and let's be real… everyone would freak a bit seeing their boyfriends Boss handing out your boyfriends underwear. Not to mention that they are still searching for a place together where Shizuma last time really stood him up. I think everyone would feel like shit in that situation. There is just so much you can tolerate and Shizuma is just not communicating at all while Minato is actually trying to do better. He even communicated that he just needs some space because he was too emotional after he saw the boss and Shizuma together, in my opinion that was a very mature response to just demand some space to work through the anxiety (even though the author then made this a "tactic" to get attention from Shizuma) and then Shizuma shows up and instead of talking to him and actually communicating he wants sex… I just can’t anymore, what even is this? How can Shizuma even be a Doctor with this lack of honest communication…. I really hope the next chapters go in a different direction and make him reflect as well instead of the author just acting like Minato is a possessive mess which I thought we already worked through in earlier stories….
So rant over, I still like this manga I just hope it gets resolved and everyone can be wholesome and happy again.
I was so busy replying with the same points you just said to other people’s comments of how Minato was so annoying and toxic and it’s his problem and he needs to work on it alone, I missed dinner time and now I’m just hungry and wondering if I’m really as toxic as Minato. So glad I refreshed and saw your comment. 1. Minato is toxic but Shizuma knows that and knows why. 2. Shizuma is friends with his ex not because he still loves her even though she cheated but because he knows part of the reason why she cheated was his absenteeism to the relationship. Now he’s doing the same and is afraid that Minato would get tired of him but does nothing to think of a solution and be a better boyfriend like how Minato is beating himself up trying to be less paranoid and toxic. They both know they have problems but the only one I see working on himself is Minato. 3. I was really scared I’ve been spouting off to others about #2 while missing how Shizuma is actually showing up but I was right, he’s just making empty promises and empty assurances without backing it up with action. 4. SPOILERS: The entire Vol 3, even after Minato’s breakdown and confession and demands, Shizuma continues to be patronizing and he just thinks Minato is being cute instead of taking it seriously and Shizuma does not realize Minato’s problem is not with the director as a person or even his career, but Shizuma’s own attitude towards the director, his lack of professional boundaries as a person in a relationship, and his failure so far to achieve a healthier work-life balance. After a mental breakdown, Minato grows on his own and decides to work on being less possessive and more understanding and overall he’s just matured more. On Shizuma’s side, I am grateful he has made Minato able to open up and complain to him confidently but he still does not mature as much as Minato does in my opinion and for that I still think he’s not pulling his own weight in the relationship and Minato may have to continue to be sidelined a bit more and have to be more and more understanding for a while more.

I am so happy that there are people who agree. I see so many people saying „Well, Shizumas Job is demanding“ but for real?! Even other characters in the manga are telling him to clock out when he is supposed to clock out, but he doesn’t do that. Always working never telling Minato anything and then standing him up. It’s frustrating.
