I loved this, but few complaints.
1. Why is the ML, and everyone else, questioning why she hurts herself to get away from the west? Didn’t you already see the assassins? So it’s either guaranteed death or maybe death.
2. During the court scene they needed a person of higher authority to sway the vote entirely, and the prince said he could. But wait, that duchess who testified was the emperors cousin, so why didn’t that count as high enough authority?
I LOVE how the FL Lamielle is so outspoken and really acts like a woman and not the perfect refined version of one, and same for the ML. He’s flawed but he’s taken on the classic ‘frail and weak’ role that would usually belong to the FL! It’s cute and refreshing,
Now, here’s the parts I didn’t like!. SPOILERS!!
Sry guys, I dropped this at like ch 55. I know they had to fix up the plot and tie loose ends, but why was her character built this way?
I’ll say it point blank, I just straight up did NOT like the Princess. From the beginning, I was reading for Lamielle and Roel, and all of a sudden after the werewolf arc there was suddenly another kingdom brought up, like holy crap just drop that nuke. I really could not care less for any of these characters from the other kingdom, especially the princess. In a story where the characters are non stereotypical, why does the princess have to be? Classic useless damsel in distress, and not even in an entertaining way. Because she’s so different in a bad way compared to everyone else in the story, she seems weirdly detached from it. I just feel like she didn’t have personality. Her personality was her ditzy side. Every time she came up on screen, shit you not, ESPECIALLY DURING THAT SWORDSMANSHIP SCENE, I instantly click the next ch button.
And when Roel was fully healed, why did it only last for like 3 ch. we saw him get better and fully recover for a whole 3 ch, and then the plot shifted to this other kingdom, which I might add, don’t care for in the slightest.
THIS IS FUCKING AMAZING, I NEED TO HESR SOMEONE ELSES THOUGHTS TOO
You know it’s good when you read, then the next time you see the chapter count it’s at 13. This really has a way of sucking you in, and I think that’s because of the unique world building and the humanization of characters!! Fan girl over this with me PLEASE
SPOILERS ARE BEYOND
Walter, the sharpest blade, is usually stoic and blunt and formal with his speech, but his face light up when she gave him rocks for his collection. This makes us empathize with him. He’s not just a soldier anymore, he’s a person with likes and dislikes, not just a tool for thr plot. AND OH MY GOD THR WAY THIS MILITARY IS ORGANIZED IS SO RIDICULOUSLY AMAZING IN A WAY IVE NEVER SEEN BEFORE!
Using the avian species as intelligence and as a mode of transportation? GENIUS. Even if it seems obvious, NO ONE HAS EVER WRITTEN SOMETHING LIKE THIS BEFORE. The Lap aren’t physically gifted, but the Lycans are, so they serve as an explosive front line. The world building and the plot go do hand in hand it creates a beautiful symphony that I can’t help but want to hear more and more.

I thought it’s be as comforting as the basement, but it’s just a straight up CAGE like NAH
