Honestly, the world this plays in is so incredibly interesting and I'd even argue that the characters are very intricate!
The physical torture and sexual abuse do play an important role in this narrative, obviously, but I feel like it just isn't handled the right way.
These acts of violence do have their place in this, but they should be treated with the severity they deserve in terms of characterization and narrative influence.
Instead of diving into the MC's psyche or any of the other character's deeper thoughts and feelings, we repeat the same cycle of abuse. Which is a shame! I think he whole mutant thing is very interesting
I totally understand not liking Ben (he's not exactly my fave either) but! I think it's important and very interesting to see where he's coming from. Without this backstory, we lack a lot of context for basically all his scenes in the entirety of the story. For someone so integral to the plot, that would just feel like bad writing.
If you don't like it, don't read it but I believe this is the right thing to do. Every character plays a part in this story. It's only fair that they get their share of screentime. I also think that this backstory is written really interestingly, so even if he's not my favorite character, I am absolutely enjoying it and I am curious to see how this ties back into the main story and into his behavior.
Ben wasn't written in the most likeable way and I think that is precisely why it's so interesting to see his backstory and to finally gain some understanding of why he acts the way he does. It doesn't excuse any of his actions (not to me, at least) but it does shed some light on his motives and the way he feels.
At the end of the day, we are all entitled to our own opinions. I just don't really see the point in people complaining. You're on a free site. The author is not going to see this. The author will not bend to your wishes. Either wait until it's over and read then (if it bothers you so), read along and enjoy it for what it is, or just work through those feelings.
I am so happy to see that granny seems to be doing a bit better. I am sure it'll at least ease the burden on Dan's heart a little bit. Poor him I am glad we got to see him and that he looks like he's at least physically taking care of himself. I had been worried he might be letting himself go.
At least, the new environment is not giving him additional issues to stress over.
I am really curious to see how his and Jaekyung's first encounter after time apart is going to go. I cannot see JK in his current state being rational at all, to be honest
I think it's justified for people to return to this to voice their critiques. Is it a staple? For sure!
Is it good? Debatable.
Hyesung has been failed by every adult around him and while yes, he is a faulty character, I think his circumstances just haven't made anything easy for him. That considered, he truly did his best.
Dojin does not get enough flack for what a genuinely bad person he was here and there, simply because of his change later on. I pray the spin-off is written fairly. I love myself some drama but man...
Am I the only one who finds the art change off-putting? I feel like the art improved once again and it's pretty! And everyone looks pretty!
But Riftan straight up looks like a different person compared to his past season's counterpart? As if it's not just a mere artstyle improvement but a full-on character model change?
Thought it was just me. I noticed it since season 2 came back. Maxi's hair is not voluminous anymore. I'm very particular about it. T'was the first thing I noticed.. Then Riftan became softer? Like his jawline is not that stern anymore?
I don't know.. The last couple of panels look okay to me, though...

Is it just me or did their foreheads shrink? Their heads / faces seem to look comically tiny now...
