I think the problem isnt being on the internet, the problem is even seeinf triggering stuff that is so clearly normalised.
I get what you’re saying but this comic is covered in trigger warnings. And the scan team that’s translating it is extra diligent and specific. Who exactly is at fault then if someone blows past all those warnings, reads it, and then feels distressed? It’s one thing to expose someone to messed up porn without a warning. But it’s another to read the warnings and still dive in expecting something different. Then the argument always defaults onto “wELL I read the trigger warnings but still don’t think it should be allowed to exist because it upsets me”. Which is super dumb because if stories could get axed all because someone was offended by them there wouldn’t be any yaoi for these fujos to read at all. The problem of normalization wouldn’t be much of an issue if these sites had proper guardrails to keep children from seeing porn and if readers were literate enough to identify abusive situations in fiction despite them being fictional. Unfortunately neither of these things exist, but that doesn’t mean I blame the author for it.

Well, the author of this manhwa and the author of Sadistic Beauty are different. They only share the same illustrator. They’re very different stories despite both featuring a cocky dude getting abused to the point of death. Guess the artist has a brand now.
Anyways! Onto the bulk of your statement, I support all art existing but I think the way people engage with it is meaningful. Especially when we’re talking about young folks and trauma survivors being exposed to it without their consent. This stuff should be protected more heavily so people don’t have to randomly stumble upon a fictional dude getting raped.
I do believe people who are extremely sensitive to these topics shouldn’t even be on the internet because the internet is a messed up place. But obv that isn’t gonna happen. Best we can do as consumers is to be aware of content warnings and to make others aware of them too. Here’s the thing though, I find it facetious when people read the trigger warnings, know their limits, yet still choose to roll the dice on it and read anyway. At that point they’ve exercised their free will and made the decision to engage with rape porn. And then they want to make it everyone’s problem that they were distressed by something that was specifically labeled as distressing.
That’s all. Of course all the stuff that happens in this manhwa is gross and overly graphic, I’m not trying to argue that it isn’t, but people choose to read it. And that responsibility lies on them.
I read the novel before and honestly, it was much more terrible than this. It felt like their relationship hasnt improved little bit! In the manhwa, it might seem sweeter, but honestly Lee wooyeon’s (or wtv his name is) obsession with inseob seemed just as abusive as in the start.. and his emotional manipulation was the worst!! Inseob still kept his cool and still literally went on with that play of his. My heart aches for him!
Why does the author LITERALLY Keep making ts LONGER and LONGER trust me i love actual plots instead of falling in love in the second chapter but it does get boring after you get literally 23 OPPOTURNITIES to just move forward with the plot but decide to extend it with some useless ass plot like kidnapping the mc, the ml threatening to kill himself if mc doesnt return, ml finding out ab mc’s kidnapping and sending his 294 men-in-black-clan, kidnapper gets killed, mc gets saved happy end and like sorry but thats just useless if we KNOW that these absolutely useless excuses have the same outcome everytime bad = good and if anyones wondering why do u keep yapping i just like to complain ab stuff i dont really gaf ab but if a person is waiting for a week-10 days for a chapter thats basicallx the same like the other one just pack it up buddy pls
