I'm really curious as to how can artists of isekai/reincarnated historical manhwas draw the palace, city, and landscape background? Do they use Sketch Up or is it provided by a studio or what?
Because I'm interested in drawing a webtoon of similar theme myself but I have no way of knowing the resources. Do you guys happen to know where can I get the background resources for these types of manhwas?
Hey! I'm not sure which program you're using, but I personally use Clip Studio Paint. If you use this same software, I have some tips I can give you :)
For CSP you can download user-created materials in Clip Studio. Usually things such as 3d objects and brushes. On Clip Studio, you can use search terms like "medieval" "palace" "castle" etc. The problem with this is that often they cost a little to be able to use them and of course, you need to own CSP to even purchase them. BUT there are also many free objects in there :D
I think often the artist themselves create these backgrounds and then use it on their work so they can do it for free and have exactly what they want. However, I don't know how they make them, I think they use some 3d-software such as Blender or as you said SketchUp, but I can't say for sure.
Also, I want to add that you can search online something like 웹툰 배경 중세 which means "webtoon background medieval". Or you can search 웹툰 배경 궁전 which means "webtoon background palace". You can find there many pictures of webtoon backgrounds which I assume you can use yourself.
Just keep searching for things like that and I'm sure you'll find something you can use!
I hope this helped at least a little (⌒▽⌒)
That's what I've been wondering because oftentimes you can clearly see the difference between the author's artstyle that doesn't match with the background, like the background is so freaking extravagant but the artstyle is mehh. I've actually saved YuumeiArt's tutorial when she used SketchUp and it's really helpful but I don't even know how to use SketchUp so maybe it's time to start learning properly...
Thanks for the advice!! ヾ(☆▽☆)

Chung Myung ε=ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノ
Ryan Romano (The Perfect Run, novel)
There are others I love but they can't be called "fresh", like Cale, kdj, Klein
