I dont really get the hate. There are other bl works with slave x master and where the maste is really acting like a slave master. The slave in this work is just black and people are hating because they think anything black not produced by black people is "appropriation" or racist somehow. if this bl was written by a black person they would be praised and their work would be read in school and discussed as thought provoking, fighting against stereotypes, challenging the time and black activism. There are also a lot of pushover types of people that automatically join the hate when someone mentions that something or someone is bad without thinking critically or thinking there's a problem themselves because they are bots and can't think of anything themselves.
tell me you’re ignorance without telling me you’re ignorance. maybe you’re uncultured so that’s why you think there’s no wrong here. Emelien
tell me you’re overly sensitive and woke without telling me cuz what’s wrong with writing a story about slavery? go leave hate on all the movies that talk about slavery too while you’re at it

you have to be american to make a movie on slavery in america? says who, a racist? using slavery as a setting for a work of fiction is FINE. she isnt undermining the severity (atleast i hope not), she is only shifting the focus of the story toward romance set in an unjust time period

“The slave in this work is just black” So we’re entirely looking past 400 years of slavery got it dee
slavery has been a thing around the globe and the translantic slave trade was not the longest lasting one just maybe transported the slaves a longer distance.

also taboo things isn't equal bad it's just uncomfortable for some people. Banning anything that is taboo and sensitive would get rid of a lot of work. Homosexual literature is repulsive and uncomfortable for some people would you want BL to be banned to not impulse them? And if they were wronged by LGBT individuals would it make it more right to take BL works off the shelf? Also a lot of people's activism are in what they write, you want to ban that if their identity doesn't align with what they're writing about? Like if a man wrote about women's right you would feel offended? that he's on women's side as a nonwoman? This BL having this setting is making some people uncomfortable and they can express that but I am so tired of those people having to overly nag and say they're uncomfortable and uncomfortable and uncomfortable and that they're morally superior for dropping the work and that the author should too so the sensitive people don't have to accidentally come by the work again and binge 50+ chapter by accident and feel uncomfortable when the story has reached that point.
