Seeing the MC’s POV of her first crush kissing her sister is so sad. IRL, that’s the type of heartbreak you can physically feel, like your chest tightening or your stomach dropping. That said, I also feel bad for the ML. Having your first friend, someone you always expected to be in your life, suddenly ghost you is terrible.
People are worried about the awkwardness of dating someone who kissed your sister, but I wouldn’t hold the fact that he was kissed by a grown adult when he was a high schooler against him.
And I trust the author to make a good story. Hate Mate was peak: angsty, frustrating, but a good read nonetheless. A cliché story isn’t bad as long as the characterization and execution are good. So far, the MC is likable, and the ML has a lot of potential.
The author said that the first few chapters will follow new characters but then it’s going to return back to class 1-4.
