I found MC endearing. he is dense but i could relate to him. Not expecting something from others also means not getting disappointment. Its understandable for someone who wants to be independent specially if you realize that the only you can help yourself. I hope his mindset would change now that a baby is on its way. ML just needs to show that he is someone MC could depend on.
