yhj is a regressor, which means every time he dies in the novel he will regress and begin again from the beginning (the subway) with most of his memories intact. this is his 3rd time trying the scenarios again

Exactly, bc the novel follows his life trough regressions and ignores what happened to the worlds he lived in, but every world continued their own timeline without him.
you should've marked that as spoiler bc right now the author didnt reveal whether or not the world ends or not when he leaves yet
like, MC said that YJH won't fail this dungeon on the 3rd regression but why did he suddenly say that he's gonna die? sorry im dumb
In the original novel YJH didn't fail his third regression, but, since KDJ is changing the curent story he stated that YJH is going to die bc he is on the dungeon instead of clearing the scenario.
