This is DRAGGED??
No, bitch. Let me wake you up.
You might have been used to an obsessive and possessive son of a bitch ML where only his interests should count. And then turn to kidnapping and confinement just to get what they want, ugh so tiring.
You know what, the ML of this story is also the same as described above, except confining and kidnapping MC. However, as the story progressed, you'd also see ML regretting his past actions that ruined MC and try his best to make it up to MC.
Random: So what? Nothing new.
You might also be used to a submissive uke who can't fight the obsessive top. Oh, but of course, there are some ukes who can fight, but they can't change their situation, and I don't want to invalidate their efforts. This ukes seem like they are forced to adapt to accommodate the unstable ML.
You know what's refreshing in Hangyul (uke) of this story? It's that his emotions are realistic and logical. When he learned the truth especially in Chapter 70, he hated the ML and left. FUCK! THAT'S THE MOST LOGICAL DECISION I HAVE EVER SEEN IN THE WORLD OF BL MANHWA!
A normal fucking person would hate someone/the people responsible for ruining their life! Or at least try to get revenge and have "serves you right" moment. And that's what uke did. He didn't forgive and didn't forget.
Random: That's also what happened in other stories. Nothing new.
The ML here isn't just obsessive by default, he tries his best to make it up to MC when he knew he fucked up. The difference of this ML from the others is that, despite thinking about it, he didn't confine and kidnapped MC, nor break his limbs and drug him. He chase and begs and make up in the way he knew. Which made it feel like he was really trying his best to make MC feel that ML genuinely loves him, not just obsessing over him.
Other obsessive motherfucking son of a bitch ML would have done some damage to their MC, just to satisfy their greed.
Also, MC have the power over ML. DAAAAMN, MY FAVORITE PART, LOL. ML just receives MC's hate, punch, and slap because he knew he deserves it and ML is willing to be the punching bag so MC could vent his anger and injustice. I also love ML's crying face, as well as his beat up face when someone beats him. Gosh, ML, you really deserve all that, I love it. Also love ML's role as MC's dildo for a while, lol. And there's a slight heartache in me when I read that everything ML does seems to be all for MC. And his last 3 or 4 wishes are all for uke.
Also, I love uke's personality. He initiates and doesn't back down. A refreshing counterpart for an obsessive ML.
The story showed the chaotic emotions of uke, of hating ML/ cutting him off, try to move on, but still can't help but loving him, even when he learned of the truth of his tragic childhood. He processed his emotions and came up with decisions for himself and deciding to cut off ML, in where other stories failed to do. MC here isn't so blind and wouldn't forgive and forget easily. But you can also see his love for ML, so he can't help being just a little bias sometimes, lol. A little contradicting, I know.
I also love how Heewon's broken thread was addressed. You know what, I would love it if Heewon and Hangyul's hyung would be the second couple, but if we go that route without addressing the broken thread, it would feel like destiny and red thread is a joke. And Heewon really wasted so much time just to prove he doesn't like Hangyul, and now that he admitted he likes Hangyul, it's too late.
ANYWAYS, this story is not perfect in every sense, but I really like the characters here. The understanding of their emotions in the later part doesn't feel dragging at all. It just shows that they have a mix of love-hate relationship.
I've reread this twice already, and I still love it!! Yum! There are so many eye candies that I love, rawr! Annndd, I won't forget Chen Qiming with manly beard, damn!
