This story is the most toxic relationship I ever had
I've seen worse, like Cry, Or Better Yet, Beg, but at least that story isn't trying to gaslight the reader into believing the ML is a great guy underneath all of his trauma and mental turmoil. The fan base for that series already does that enough, lol.
My point is, even though there are relationships worse than Maxi and Riftan's, their dynamic is honestly pretty disastrous, and they shouldn't have stayed together in the end. Maxi, outside of Riftan, is a solid character, and I would've preferred if the narrative had been centered more on just personal growth and self-discovery if the author was going to screw up the romance plot this poorly.
