If they put Edmund to death, this story will become irredeemable. This is the result of all the adults’ inefficiency to properly safeguard the two princes. Imagine being Emperor and Empress, with enormous power and owning a big guild, holding great suspicions on several people, yet still failing to put adequate protection and eyes on two young royal heirs.
I really really dislike the adults on this story. Like all of them.
That's a very stupid story. First, force Edmund to poison his OWN cake he is gifting to Carlyle, thereby making Edmund #1 suspect. Second, have assassin maid insist on delivering her own poisoned cake, instead of spreading blame among other unrelated maids. This will immediately make her suspect #2. And Edmund 's mom being suspect #3 as his mom. Thereby, if she could get away with Edmund losing his inheritance and maybe with infidelity to Emperor, now she basically guaranteed that her entire family, including Edmund will be executed. First rule of assassinating, make sure the blame cannot be traced to you. They did everything in reverse of what successful assassination should be. That so stupid
They thought they could kill the entire royal in one dinner, that would make the first prince the emperor since he's the only one left with the royal blood. He won't be punished for his crime because he becomes the only heir left to rule the kingdom.
I agree with you! I had read the spoilers, and I thought the plan was for the entire family to die… maybe I remembered it wrong. And the Sios lady said, I will not let you have a happy ending… probably she felt that she would be caught anyway and with the emperor’s hatred for his dead brother, she wouldn’t survive. So maybe her plan was to drag them down with her
