Okay, when the 9th episode of the anime came out, I HAD to binge watch the manga. And I must say, all of the characters stories and arc had just hit different and made me feel all type of emotions. BUT, I feel like the LEAST and UNDERAPPRECIATED character here is Kahaku. My lord have I not CRIED so much for a fictional character until I saw Kahaku. There’s just so many things that made my heart ache for him. 1. He genuinely loved Fushi, no matter what gender or form he had, which was just so fucking heartwarming to me. But 2. His historical background and ancestry restricted him from being a part of the family and being able to be with Fushi. He was the descendant of Hayase, and because of that Fushi was literally disgusted when Kahaku tried to hug him, AND he was a knocker which made things worse for him because it made him the enemy and he hurt Fushi against his will. He committed suicide to protect the people that he loved, and his last words were “Fushi, I love you”, and he wasn’t able to get a happy ending. I am aware of the bad deeds he has committed, but I fell like if he wasn’t related to Hayase, he would’ve been so much better. Mangaka, please spare my broken heart I’m already mentally tormented T-T
