They might be using the Korean age system according to which you are roughly 2 years older than international age. So when he says they met when Ryeodam was 24, then he was actually 22 in int. age. And 2nd yr in HS (they only have 3yrs in HS in Korea) so around 17/18.

That’s real I really hope so !!! For the inference I based it off of how I was 16 finishing my 11th grade + the Korean age system switched over recently to the international one but to be fair! Idk if the translation did too
