I can never get over how honest to god perfect this story is on every reread.
the way my heart was aching the entire time, dreading the fact that Raymond's selfishness knew no bounds, how far he would fall for the sake of revenge, and then, for the sake of love. it's so satisfying to read a story with characters who are imperfect in their motivations. it all just rings so HUMAN, and that's so special to me.
