I read and watched Emma a Victorian Romance and it had a lot of history in it and I loved it for that. This give me the same vibes but in a more dark way. Emma was a more lighter in the aspect of how lower class are treated. Since this takes place much later then Emma since Emma its was more the start of railroads and not letting a sick person bleed out.
This story shows more of people's dark side and how fake they can be for money or pride.
Emma did tackle this class challenge since it was a part of the romance but this story hits much more deeper in showing the divide.
Emma was dark when it came to her back story but I wouldn't say it "HITS" the same way this does
Damn I really felt my heart clinch when the Idea of how the mc could have been sold off to some other lord or something never being happy truly, damn that hurts just thinking about it.
