exactly, a lot of people lack reading comprehension. juliet already liked the duke, but because the emperor rushed everything (literally threatening) and there was a possibility of war if she didn’t accept, she resented the duke because he never came to meet her (bc of the emperor) and hide his identity from her. obviously it doesn’t matter how affectionate the duke was, juliet was threatened with her nation’s safety to become a bride. of course she would be unhappy. i don’t understand why everyone is hating on her
