I’ve been trying to find any manwha similar to ‘Rainbow City’ in a guideverse setting, and finally i found one aaaah this shit is an underrated gem why I haven’t seen anyone talking abt this
It’s not heavy drama-filled, has fantastic characters that makes you cheer for them til the end (oh sir Blum, ur my bias) , even though it has 74ch they didn’t feel long at all, every quest is completed in 3-4 chapters or so, i think it’s rather quick but engaging.
It has the perfect amount of sex scenes, they’re not too extended to the point it feels too much or to the point it takes whole ass chapters to be over.
[i really liked the cobwebs scene lmao it’s so simple but it’s just effective for my little brain].
Tbh the side characters(mainly the retainers), yeah they’re good, but they’re good because they’re convenient for the story progression.
But i must say, Eyra’s whole character almost felt flawless, in the sense that he has the ability to make everything work eventually, minor inconveniences that gets quickly fixed, and it was pretty much obvious.
But i like seeing, for once, the bottom cool-headed, smort with the help of a bit of magic, and most importantly aware. I swear awareness is what makes a character so great to me :/
And yeah also he has Yanu. Can’t really say much abt Yanu cause, erm, he’s just the possessive/“eyes only for you” type, which hey i liiiive for it. And also he’s there to make things go easier, he’s really just the right tool for Eyra to solve some of the problems.
Tbh their relationship still felt pretty much casual to me ToT but hey they’re solid.
In the end it all rounded pretty well. The main quest completion, saving Solath, the conclusion of the D-Day, Eyra accepting to be Yanu’s mate, 100% Yanu’s nesting in Solath… it’s really just a happy ending of a fairy tale.
I didn’t expect to like it, but it’s definitely a good easy read before or after reading something angsty or drama-filled.
What baffles me is that in his mind he envisioned a possibility of being the top i’m crying TOT
What i mean is, the concept is interesting, this Snake and avians war was really intriguing, basically your enemies to lovers (by faction, not by them personally).
Thing is, i read this a long while ago, perhaps 2 years ago(?), and i just read the last 20 chapters to catch up.
I think i used to really love the manwha, i think back then i was hyped for this.
But now… idk.
I kinda don’t see the chemistry, and that’s already a big no no for me. And ofc i’m not only talking sexually. But the whole interaction between the two.
Don’t get me wrong, there are multiple adorb and cute moments, but i kinda feel bummed in a way?? Like I didn’t feel THE LOVE. Like yeah Yahyul is smitten and would do everything for the instructor, and the instructor is just tagging along i feel like TT
It kinda fell off to monotonous to me ngl.
And surely that ending for the main story, #50, wasn’t great either. Yes it felt rushed and yes it doesn’t feel like an ending at all. I’m left wondering why it feels like something big is missing.
It’s still a cute read if u wanna kill some time reading something easy and nothing angsty at all.

Story is not heavy and quite easy to read in one go, actual interesting characters with big personality, funny as hell and cuteness overload.
Even though i usually hate when sex is every 2 chapters, i’m just so amazed by the art, the positions and the expressions oh god TT the artist really put all their passion into drawing them. Like the sounding on Taehyuk in the car sex scene??? Hello??? That was amazingggngnnngh
If i had to take a shot everytime Taehyuk had said “wait” during sex I probably would’ve died at ch13 or something bwhahbahhahah
If i have to choose, my fave part would prolly be the past life arc, it’s soooooo gewd. The organic buildup that i wish other mawnhas had ughhh and also it doesn’t feel rushed or skippable cause, some stories just make a past story up just to have a reason for them to be together later on. But in this case you can feel every sentiment Hyo-un and Taehyuk had growing up, from guardianship to affection to love. Our little big dwagon deserves to love and to be loved, same for Taehyuk ofc TT
I like that Hyo-un recognizes Taehee and still calls her princess, (present time) when he was showing Taehyuk his past memories and got to old Taehee’s death scene, he said “This Day marked the passing of the last human to remember you” and that made me tear up a bit cause Hyo-un felt even lonelier than ever, and the thought of him being the only person to keep the memory of Taehyuk alive must have devoured him.
Like his biggest fear was not being able to even recollect Taehyuk’s face, and that just destroyed me!
What can i say just 10/10

Chapters from 70 to 76 are prolly my fave chapters in the story.
The whole Taekin’s last moments before waking up got me sobbing, Heechan telling him he can be the adult he can talk to from now on. Especially it’s because it’s Heechan, who didn’t have any growups to be there for him that made it the whole thing emotional. He knows how it feels like, he understands the same struggles.
During the whole last part in Taekin’s case, from the talk with Juben (?? Taekin’s friend from other school) to the confrontation with Hayoung (the class president’s brother), i was soooo anxious, i don’t think i’ve ever felt so much anxiety and anticipation like i did in that moment, also it was like 4am and my heart was beating so damn hard.
After Taekin’s case, we got the past story of the main characters, and i liked that it was being told in third person, as if the author was telling us a tale. They wasn’t just showing us what they were doing and what they experienced, but what they were feeling too. Even if they were not that close, it seemed like their thread was bound to intertwine one way or another, now or later, even if at that point was all low-key. Which yeah it’s really like “fate mates” kinda trope, esp the dot connecting between Heechan-Taekin-Minjae. But none of them really knew it was gonna happen, so for them it was all casual.
It’s sad that we didn’t get to see more of their relationship, because after Taekin’s case, we only got 10 chapters of them officially together.
And it’s really sad bcs this story is so good and not your typical BL. So i’m bummed bcs of the anticipation of another big plot, which now revolves around their feelings. So sigh.
So yeah, it was a good read
