It started off a bit chaotic, maybe because of translation, or maybe the author purposefully introduced a bunch of things at once to get the story Goin, but I really didn't expect much from the first like 5 or so chapters.
But then I kept reading and each chapter is short and very straightforward, that once I stopped I already read the first 50 chapters. The couples are all so sweet, the pacing is great and a lot of stories when introducing or going into detail about side couples really take away from the spotlight of the main couple, or take needed screen time away from them, but it flowed so smoothly from one couple to the next.
I do feel maybe the side couple of Qin and I forgot the name of his boyfriend may have been a bit underdeveloped as the others, or left us with a bit missing, but the characters are all really well developed in the romantic relationships with each other.
It felt like I just read a super short and sweet romance comic, but there was a lot of plot covered, nothing felt rushed and all the couples got the exposure and clarity they needed!
I loved the beginning. It felt like a sweet fun romance, but as the chapters progressed I got more and more disappointed.
The light haired mc went abroad without even telling his bf. When they met again, there wasn't even a single apology for leaving like that.
After the two get back together, the uke meets a guy at the gym, while not asking seme to teach him how to exercise.
Uke left for a movie date on his own when the two of them literally slept in the same bed, seme was too tired to get up and instead of you know just canceling the movie date or forcing seme to get ready, leaves on his own for the date, and he coincidentally watched the movie with gym bro.
Then later gym bro gives a bouquet of flowers to uke. The seme misunderstands it as the gym buddy trying to flirt with him. Then the final misunderstanding with this guy was that the gym buddy got the uke drunk, missing semes basketball game and seme witnessed gym bro coming out of his boyfriends house after missing the game. No apology at all from uke. Then seme, furious, goes back to his dorm or something and his friends convince him to be the one to go back and reach out. No apology from uke.
And towards the end, the uke brings up how seme missed like 3 meetings with uke and how he's immature. Like, one of the meetings was literally uke dumping seme to go to the movie theather without seme for a date with seme? Uke literally never apologized for any of the misunderstandings he created and not even for leaving to study abroad.
And for no reason whatsoever, the author brings back the long distance plot point sending them off to "internships".
Outside of this the author literally blocks every chance the couple gets at any s*xual intimacy. Friend, parent or even just falling asleep. Like if you wanna show them getting close, you don't have to draw a s*x scene, but if you hint at one over and over again with all of them being some sort of c*ck blocking, I don't see how that shows the lovey-dovey ness of the couple.

The non s*xual intimacy is because of censorship! China revises every type of media to see if it abides by the rules, and explicit content between two members of the same sex is prohibited ☹ for this reason and to not get their work cancelled, authors prefer not to risk it by not showing anything. A real pity in my opinion

It started off with a lot of potential. The setting was well explained. The genre of a slight angst filled romance-y light mystery feel was well created with the first like 40 chapters.
The ending with the second Prince Ian, could have had a lot more chapters, filled with more story and more romance.
Cedric as a side character did not have to be introduced beyond being saved and really didn't need to come back into relevance that soon.
The first love triangle wasn't even resolved before this new character, Cedric, came into play.
Jinsoos sister didn't need to take up space as Shae at all.
All this extra plot took away from Carsen rooting himself as the ML.
Kael was rejected for things he did that Carsen was given a free pass even before they got together. You can reject someone for whatever reason, but if you're the author at least keep your plot consistent.
Carsen had so much potential really building a relationship with Maythan and the only reason you know Carsen is the ML is because of how much Kael was rejected.
The only thing Carsen did that Kael didnt that made it seem like Maythan was more into Carsen was the fact that Maythan heard Carsens tragic backstory and being forced to help Carsen by holding his hand.
If it happened once and was really developed into this romantic gesture, ok there was chemistry. But they just kind of meet in the dead of night to hold hands and just exist. No talking, no badump.
No nothing and then Maythan goes and blushes more at every other random character out there and you say Carsen is the ML?
And then Maythan goes and dies only thinking oh I love you Carsen? Like he had more chemistry than Kael for God's sake.
I found some of the side stories and even there there's more focus on the side characters and the relationship between Jinsoo and Carsen is only implied through Everyone saying OMG they're in love, but theres no plot showing them being lovey dovey like literally all of the other characters.
This had so much potential, but like literally the main couple is given the least amount of anything.
