I feel like if the situation were reversed, people would be much quicker to call out discrimination against gay characters—so it seems hypocritical to criticize this story just because a straight couple appears in it.
Since this is a yaoi genre, it makes sense that the main couple is M/M, but that doesn’t mean straight characters shouldn’t be included as well. Stories can reflect a variety of people and relationships without taking away from the main focus.
Will Ruby and Izek keep living in that sh***y place even after people witnessed her brother’s abuse? In the place where servants and everybody mistreated her? And wtf they still let Freya near Ruby after everything happened?!
I stopped reading after Freya poured tea on herself, so maybe there were some changes, but after the blue haired knight called Ruby a witch, I don’t think that much has changed for Ruby calling them her family…
