You prob just liked the chase XD and if the charac & plot wasn't strong in the first place ofc you'd get bored. What you need is to read a good established relationship story with a plot beyond the characters being the endgame

Same. I have a whole list of stories that I’ve abandoned right after they get together. I’m a firm believer that stories should have an ending rather than these ones that continue on and on for no reason. I do still have a few that I’d read forever if I could but if I feel like the romance has reached its peak then I’m out.

This is so real, happens to me all the time and that's where I get obsessed with the second couple (if there is any), and funnily, it's almost always more exciting than the main couple. Sometimes, I reread stuff just for the side couple lol

That's a great explanation for it. Especially in stories where the bond is rushed and there's not enough layers to the backstories and the formation of the relationship, as soon as they get together, it feels complete cause there's not enough depth. Characters in such stories already play with mostly open cards, so it's not like anything new is gonna come from the changed, now intimate dynamic. Rarely have I seen stories where it's not a slow burn and it's still interesting to read about the couple after they get together. Usually, a second couple is added to keep you interested, and it works lol, at least for me
