Leaving it here as it is is fine. It doesn't have to have a solid conclusion. HS managed to turn his life around and he didn't waste the second chance he got. He changed, spent more time with his family and met new people that cared for him. It's open to many possibilities and interpretation. We can imagine of how it ended and choose the "end" that we prefer. Although it's saddening that we won't see more of them, atleast we know that it'll end well for all of them.
Top Tier (SSS level Manhwas) :
- The Greatest Estate Developer
- Eternally Regressing Knight
- SSS class Suicide Hunter
- I Became the Tyrant of a Defense Game
- Black Haze (my personal fave)
- The Newbie is Too Strong
- Lightning Degree
- Mercenary Enrollment
Oh I've read all the old chapters and it really hit me hurt...I mean the plot is so damn interesting that I want to continue reading but there's no more and I have to wait for the new versions to catch the old ones which might take longer than I imagined..... still it's worth my time reading so it's okay not to be okay lol

It's amazing how they were able to fit all 52 chapters of the book into 8 manhwa chapters.
The ml is some sort of ancient all-powerful Eldritch entity. "It" killed the duke and stole his identity. "It" is just bored, and then came the fl, and voila! he had someone to "love". Because he's not really human, he doesn't have any human empathy so he is indifferent to the fl's despair and hopelessness. He comes to "love" her because she came to his infinite, monotonous existence and brought him excitement or smth. That love is twisted tho. And because he's not really human, he doesn't really see her murder attempts as malicious, he just sees it as something cute or playing with him. He views her as a precious treasure that belongs solely to him. He does not really care for her happiness, mental health, and such, his only goal is just to own her completely, bound and chained for eternity. Ultimately, Calix does love Evelia, just not like how humans love.
This story is just deconstructing the possessive love or yandere trope. The story is more focused on the horror of an inescapable, unconditional love. It depicts the reality of how a possessive love and adoration can become a curse that strips away someone's life. And this story also flips the common tropes where the strong, smart and defiant fl tames the weird-possessive-smh-wtf-powerful ml. It shows that no matter how competent, realistic, or physically/mentally strong the fl is, she stands absolutely no chance against smthg like that handsome asswipe.
Just pure toxic obsession.
I love your summary spot on
this reminds me so much of “How About Cosmic Horror?,” so if you haven’t read that yet, i totally recommend it if you’re into this kinda thing. it’s both a book and manhwa.
I was about to say the same thing!!
