You're not wrong though! All through this chapter, I feel like she still has zero understanding of what she's offering by being there to come home to. She's also the only woman he's been with. She's not cheating or plotting or using him, she listens when he talks, holds him when he sleeps, gives him a reason to fight, protect and provide and is grateful for everything he does. For a man like him, that's everything. Plus she has been very reliable and running the household. Thinking it's not enough is her hangup. Her sister would probably expect a husband to be grateful for half that.

they're both a bit twisted - Maxi for not being able to trust people fully and Riftan for trying to solve everything by himself, which is also somewhat a lack of trust in other people :/ they also both seem to be unable to put their expectations into words... I want them to finally talk it out and get to the bottom of things! Once they work things out, they will be so lovely together!
As a novel reader I agree. I think you're gonna like the part 1 ending then...
The ending to part 1 (Book 1) is my only canon ending. These two are terrible for each other, if I'm being honest.
