I can never understand why people want to destroy life because you want to be greedy for power or envy what the other person has. No one wins. I do love this story even when things are not perfect or happy it is so good. Can't wait to see what comes next.
I totally agree with you, but we don't know the reason for that war. If they are lacking resources (because of drought or a winter too cold or something of the sort) maybe the reason is survival.
Youre thinking like a 21 century person. The setting is mid to late 19 century. Persons in that age had very different ideas and morals. Look up "The Great Game" or the annexation of China online.
I love these characters and love the stories. So glad there is a new chapter. I need to re-read this again.
