i can't hold it anymore. the paneling has been a complete mess for the past several chapters now. the artwork itself is not bad, but the panels are totally nondescript and oftentimes you can barely see anyone's expression, if at all. who is greenlighting this, just let the author take a hiatus..... though it's possible the author themself just wants to finish the story quickly. it's a shame either way.
yechan is that one guy who don't play about seokjun at all and it's so hilarious to me. if it were announced that every man would blow up tomorrow, yechan would try to figure out how to make both himself and seokjun survive it because he hasn't had enough sex with him yet (and he likes him). this is kind of a master class in character writing idk
running this one back and wondering why the hell jungwook told hyunjin he might be able to date his crush in chapter one knowing full well that he was the one he had a crush on i always thought he moved really strangely with hyunjin anyway but that's kinda crazy to say when you know exactly who he likes lmfao
i finished it~ sans the side stories because i'm not putting myself through that. there's a suspiciously daewoo-shaped elephant between the 7/10 this story is and the 10/10 it could've been. it's really bordering on a 6/10 because daewoo is such a deterrent to this story, and his involvement in the plot that suddenly got switched up to dole out the blame to other parties and shift focus off of him holds it back by so much it isn't even funny. there are genuinely one too many scenes wasted on him because the author desperately wants you to forgive him for something they never had to make him do in the first place if they weren't going to commit to him suffering any consequences for it. and that's really the worst part about it for me: nothing happens to him at all for the amount of problems he caused and he gets everything he wants in spite of it all. it's almost comical. it's upsetting because beneath this really ugly sheen, the story is more than serviceable, but the commitment to making sure that nothing happens to daewoo fills me with a sense of foreboding for the author's future works the main couple is sooo lovely, idk why they couldn't just focus on them alone lmao.
glad someone else gets it. it's so frustrating because i'm not even willing to reread it like i usually do for stories i really liked because of how much he gets in the way manhwa authors have to make good use of their time in how they tell these stories, and scenes that could've been spent on literally anything else were wasted on the author looking me in the face and saying, "these characters forgive him, so why can't you?" like...i don't take any issue with there being bad actors in these stories, but my issues start when the author starts asking for me to forgive them for what they do. like bro YOU chose to make him a rapist (in a scene that added and did nothing for the story, no less!), why is it on me to move on from that? so irritating lmao
literally... like i would've been good on him if he hadn't done that quickly went from being "he's not a good person" to "oh so he's just straight up evil" and it feels like the author really couldn't commit to it at all because he Never acts like the way he had at the start of the manhwa ever again lmfao. so i'm doubly pissed off like don't make him a horrible person and then sheepishly try to back out asking me to forget about it; double down on that shit and own it at the very least if you're gonna do it at all.... ugh. honestly thinking on the solitary scene where they adress the rape solidifies it as a 6/10, i truly can't believe they did that lol.
i'm only a little over halfway through and i've been mostly loving it thus far but i'm blown by the author trying to brush off the rape by being like "lol well joon was an incubus!" like that makes it okay ? even arguing that they're demons doesn't hold up because they still have morals, which was clearly shown by joon being enraged at finding out daewoo's been killing people... it just makes no sense at all and it makes for inconsistent characterization just for the sake of salvaging this piece of shit character. really dropped the rating for this story down an entire letter grade with that alone. what a joke seriously. i will never understand this fixation some authors have with redeeming rapists in these stories, it adds nothing of value and this story definitely didn't need this kind of conflict when there's plenty of turmoil already.

i know jinpil doesn't understand just how serious jinhyeong is about uyun, but he truly all but sent himself to eternal damnation by fucking with him and making him cry lol. a whole month of your own son shitting on you on the internet through hundreds of comments and attacking your most sensitive insecurities... he genuinely deserves worse. jinhyeong should legally be allowed to string him up by his ankles over the interstate like he said he wanted to.
